This is a very potent message. If only people would stop and feel the truth – the impact of this message. I tell my coaching clients that the first thing they are required to do is to look in the mirror, first thing in the morning, and look into their eyes for two full minutes and say I LOVE YOU and keep looking into their own eyes and watch the change, feel the initial discomfort, and watch what happens as the days go by. Two minutes each morning . That is job one. That is the basis for everything else to come.
Great message Dear. :-)

For me to become present in each moment I had to first change my limiting, negative beliefs and emotions so that I could actually just BE in the moment. I was blessed with a tool called Psych-K which is short for psychological kenisiology and uses muscle testing to communicate directly with the subconcious mind. By using Psych-K balance techniques that align concious and subconcious beliefs I have been able to shift beliefs within minutes and truly be at peace and happy with life as it is. Eckhart Tolle’s book A NEW EARTH is alsoi a phenominal experience when you read it.

Consciousess is sometimes said to be the awareness that exists within us. Consider this: In order for conscious awareness to exist, there must be something to aware of. This “something” we define as the universe of objects and events around us. So we tend to divide the universe into two, our inner consciousness, and the outer world we are experiencing.
That is called “dualism”. It is often expressed as the Chinese Ying-yang symbol, two comma shaped areas, one black one white intertwined in a circle. People often ignore the circle in which the ying and yang are depicted. The circle means the two are contained in one, which is unity, or non-dualism.

Just as consciousness cannot exist without something to be conscious of, the manifest universe would not exist with out the principle of consciousness. Once you realize this you can begin to understand that the universe is really one, a unity which is not divided into that which is aware (inner observer) and that which is observed (outer phenomena). Both are integrated in consciousness. Universe must have both the principles of the observer and observed, for one could not exist except for the other.

It follows that consciousness cannot be merely a function of the brain. It is actually a primary condition for any existence at all. So consciousness must have existed prior to the evolution of the brain. The universe is created through consciousness. Consciousness is the great creator, or what we might call “God”. As Jesus is reputed to have said, “I and the Father are one”.

Hi Steve, I love the definition that you quoted from Websters. I agree it is so very important to define what we are talking about and to understand the words we use.

Becoming more aware is a matter of practice…daily practice, sitting quietly and stilling the mind begins a process that over time allows you to hear, and see the messages that are all around you, and to become more aware of your own voice. Before you know it you areb noting habits and interupting thoughts that do not serve you well.

Patience is a virtue that allows the process of awareness to unfold within you.

Thanks for the very interesting article.

Nick
