I just finished reading an Email from one of the Navy SEALs I trained. He is now on his third deployment, this time in Iraq. I can’t help but remember, this was the person I met almost 7 years ago when he had just turned 19 and being a Navy SEAL was only a dream.
Now, I’m sure a lot of you are aware of the type of training it takes to become a SEAL. It’s brutal, physically and mentally and when you saw this guy at 19, he weighed 135 lbs at 5’6″ you might not have taken his goal seriously. While I did, the important element in his achievement was that HE did.
He was connected with his power. This isn’t to say he didn’t have his fears or doubts. He did, we all do. But he knew in his heart what was his truth, where his desires lay and he had the courage to go for it. With everything he had.
That is where the true power is. Having believe in yourself. Courage to move forward despite all evidence showing otherwise. And to go all in with personal commitment. There is no room for second guessing, questioning yourself.
So many of us get caught in the framework of ‘is it the right thing to do’, or issues of worthiness and fears pop up.
The very fact that you desire something is all the proof you need that it’s appropriate. There is no need to hold yourself to anything less than you truly desire. Allow yourself the opportunity to truly HAVE what it is you really desire. No need to play small any longer. You ARE worthy of your goals, and your goals worthy of you.
And once the desire is there, go for it. Completely. Let go of second guessing yourself, or having to be perfect, or having all the answers.
Just be. Just do. And allow yourself finally to have.
