I was so fortunate to have an abrupt change in my life that gave me direct evidence of our power to create - and that we create more of where our attention goes. As a mother, I've chosen to remove many things from my life that don't serve me - reading (and believing!) news headlines, watching television, etc. Life is a joy when you come to see that you can make your world as you want it - focusing on those intimate conversations and small acts of loving kindness, as you have mentioned, is what makes my life rich. Steve, I love your statement at the end of this article that discusses closing the gap between our habitual thoughts/reactions and those that are higher consciousness/god ways. This is so beautiful - mindfulness lifting us up to unconditional love. You are an amazing inspiration. This is just a lovely article. Why? Because they touch beliefs and values that have somehow not been recognized at all or integrated properly. In years gone by and living a very pragmatic life all such talk of love and peace did seem just too wishy-washy to me. Then I began to study thinking patterns also the way the mind, body/mind works, which opened up a completely different understanding of love and peace as well as everything else in my life. So now when something touches a raw end, I immediately work on finding its place, meaning and origin. OK, so far so good but that does not always return my feelings to peace and love. Oh yes, in my experience most people live in one of varying states of peace and love but have just not noticed it as such. So how do we change that state of mind? Well it is to my mind something very personal and one has to test out various methods until finding the right one. Which one works for me right now? I stop doing whatever is current and focus on driving my new Bentley. It does not have the style and panache of my old 1947 Bentley but this new one does in its own way fill me with the joy of life, it is so right for me, I cannot really explain why I am so integrated with this car I feel as though it just wants to please me all the time. Crazy? Perhaps, yet no more crazy than a life of peace and love. In fact just thinking about driving or simply sitting in this car fills me with peace and love or put in a different way, the thought of this car has the capability to change unhappy or disturbed feeling into peace and love feelings. Silly really how a simple thought, the right thought can change my world. For those who would say what an environmentally unfriendly car to have, I might say that it produces less than 100grms CO2 to the mile running on bio fuel. Oh yes the other point, I have not bought my Bentley yet, all the same I know how wonderful that feeling is. You see I discovered that loving myself enough to enjoy such a fine car without any judgement opens the door to peace and love for everything else. That is of course how I create a new reality. The day the dream will become a reality the join will be so immaculate the reality of driving my Bentley will be exactly as it was in my dream. I believe that what you focus on expands and too many people center their days around finding out what happen in their community and the world. Unfortunately it is predominently not good that we are exposed to. I personally try to spend my time finding ways to assist people in growing and improving their lives and the internet allows me to reach so many more. I do believe we attract to ourselves that which we receive. In order to change that, we must change and that is difficult for a large number of people to understand. I believe that Prosperity or Poverty is your choice. But to move from one to the other requires change. And when enrgy and vibration change so will that which you attract to yourself. Conversely, think about those who did understand and live as truly loving, peaceful, compassionate individuals. What may have happened? I think they manifested better lives for themselves and their beloveds, and no, the media won't sell much copy reporting about harmonious existence. Second, regarding being "the star of our movie": I have a recurring dream where I'm on a stage in a play and I don't know the lines, feeling anxious and embarrassed, everyone staring, waiting for me to deliver, while getting angry that the director of the play hadn't given me the script. What am I supposed to be telling the audience, what are they waiting for? I analyzed this when it happened a couple of months ago and pretty easily realized that I AM the director and I needed to get into the flow of the moment and improvise the lines. Or better, to channel the script from source and allow whatever comes to me to be the tale. There. I just delivered my lines, at least for this act. Two thoughts:
